Bathurst Village Market

This place is unique. The food is fresh and the variety is amazing. Stock levels are nice, if you go there for a particular thing, if they carry it they have it. Staff is kind and polite. It feels like family. I go there once a month all the way from downtown using TTC. That's how much they are worth it

Selection and prices are pretty good but staff-you feel like you got back to USSR with the level of service. Was there 2 days ago and the cashier (young girl in her probably early 20s) were unbelievably rude and unprofessional. They definitely need some very thorough training on how to treat customers.

I always liked this store even after I ate a terrible pirozhok with cabbage. Once I even brought the biking group there advertising their food.But a month ago I was harassed there by a male customer. It happened in front of the customers and 3 employees. I asked employees not to serve him because he was using all kind of verbal assaults. but they served him even in front of me although he was behind.When I went to find the owner it happened he was standing in the next isle so for sure he overheard the insults but he preferred not to admit it. He said he could do nothing because that customer was already served although the customer had not yet paid for his purchases.I left the store without the purchases and I would never shop in it. So keep in mind that if the rude man wants to insult the woman in this store the owner will do nothing,

As non Russian speaking customers, my husband and I were discriminated against and treated horribly. We were made to feel like we did not belong. And all we wanted to do was shop.The deli counter staff made it very difficult for us to be served. The cheese counter person flat out refused to serve me until I confirmed with another store worker that the cheese counter was in fact open until 9pm - meanwhile, the lady at the cheese counter said they were closed. This was just after 8pm. She ended up making me feel like she was doing me a favour by serving me. I have never encountered such ill-mannered customer service in my life.The unprofessionalism is far too much. I am shocked the workers get away with such behaviour towards their customers.We spent a good amount of money in your store, yet we were made to feel incredibly unwelcome. Your staff treated us like garbage. Your staff clearly do not appreciate outsiders coming into your store to financially support you. Your staff made this more than clear to us.If you do not speak Russian, do not spend your money here. They will make you feel uncomfortable and will treat you disrespectfully. They don’t care if they insult you.I genuinely left there feeling so unbelievably embarrassed.It’s a complete shame because I was originally excited to explore this grocery store. My husband and I really like the deli, bakery options and imported goods, but the staff that work here have made it very clear to us that we are simply not welcome.Even the lady at the checkout was unbelievably rude to us. She had a miserable look on her face and refused any sort of eye contact.It was a disgustingly gross experience to say the least.If I could give zero stars I would.

Great variety of European cooked food. Try chicken shishkebab.If you are into deserts you are in luck here. We tried most of the cakes and all are amazing.Our last purchase was Easter kulich and it did not disappoint.

The cashier seemed more interested in finishing her conversation with the person in front rather than scanning my 1 item once it was my turn.

The staff are so rude they should make a sitcom out of this place. Good selection of things, though, and we found the quality to be fine. It was almost comical, though, how blatantly rude the deli counter staff are. I'd give the place five stars, but I knocked two off because really? Get some therapy or learn some basic customer service skills. Hilarious but also very awkward.

Good European grocery store.I like Borodinskyi bread specially.

Wanted to come in on a Sunday afternoon with my daughter to get a couple of veggies... Didn't have a bike lock so opened the door and asked cashier nicely (middle aged, dark short hair) if I could walk in briefly with my daughter sitting on her bike seat. The attitude and eye roll I got was as of if was talking to an 8 year old. Didn't even say yes or no, just rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulder.Jesus......

Just came out of the market and I buy here all the time, I didn’t care about the bad customer service that they have if you don’t speak Russian. But today when I buy the stuff I like so much, I ate in the car and when I try the beef kabanos and dry salami they didn’t look the same but I thought if is there is good. I came back to the store because the 2 items I just mentioned tasted past the day that is good to ingested, and first they keep directing me until finally someone help me and she started to try the food and said it was perfect, I’m not joking when I say I buy here all the time, I don’t care if they don’t care to eat things like that but I would never came back, they are really racist and rude with people. I don’t recommend the place.
