That name of that shop and whole branding was a big turn off for me in the beginning. So I tried all other eastern block markets around here. This one is my favorite. Mostly for its friendly faces behind a counter. Always a very lively atmosphere and good quality products.

What a well stocked little store! I really loved this store and all their pastries, cookies, crackers, foreign products. The customer service was great even though they were busy. The cake was a bit expensive at $10.99 per lb. but it was moist and flavorful. I wanted to bring something different to a friends picnic and this was the hit of the party. Will definitely come back and try more items from their hot food area and other desserts

I love this place so much! Their deli is fresh and the variety is vast, definitely try their actual dinner section too. Their real food is definitely better than their desserts but I haven't tried everything so I could be wrong. They have a ton of different jams, honeys, and cookies specifically, but overall there are a lot of different food groups packed into one little store. I've been coming her for 5 years and their food is always delicious and consistent.

A place to go for all food Russian - fresh baked bread, beverages, meats. There are other Russian markets, but they tend to come and go.The food pictured here is a beef sausage crepe made to order in the coffee shop. Delicious and reasonably priced

Try one of the delectable food in the Deli and be forever hooked! They have halal meat and foods. If you are having a craving for sweets... they have a thousand choices to choose from. This grocery store is ideal. Nothing missing. If you can't read the labels, don't worry. Someone is always there to help.I highly recommend trying a sample of deli items, although we didn't, and it exceeded our pleasure palettes. It is very clean and well organized store.

Recently when I was having my car windows tinted about a block from here, I decided to walk the neighbourhood and check out the shops for some interesting treat. While it was nice seeing all sorts of things I’ve never seen before, I was totally unwelcome and ended up not buying anything. I’m not sure what the situation was but all I got was stares from employee lady at the register as if I were going to be stealing from her or something. Lots of other international markets around the city that are way more friendly than this place who will even willingly offer up suggestions for new things to try out. If you like cranks, this is your place.

I grabbed a regular sized bottle of sparkling water to go with my meal and when the girl rang it up it was $4.99. There were no price tags on any of the bottled waters in the cooler. Had I known I would've just asked for a glass of tap water but they probably don't label it so that people will be less likely to change their mind in line at the register. Ridiculous pricing.

I went in looking for poppy seed pastries (found them, very nice and fresh) and wound up with an education about Eastern European food. Lots of mushrooms, both dried and pickled, and many interesting and unusual foods. Everything very fresh and the staff was helpful and courteous.

For anyone else on a quest for another version of “Herring Under a Fur Coat” over at Kachka (Lavka), look no further than the deli section of this cozy little store. You can snag a whole container filled with tasty Shuba for $8.99/lb and gorge to your heart’s content. (As an aside, their fried breads with the cabbage filling and the mashed potato filling were so-so. They’re quite scant on the fillings, so don’t go in expecting a piroshki or anything.)This is a small store that clearly exists to meet the needs of their community, so not everything is neatly and clearly labeled in English with a price tag, but don’t let that stop you from dropping by this authentic gem!

The two little desserts were clearly labeled $3.31each but I was charged $8.99 each! The ladies kept whispering about the prices the whole time… Why lie to your customers?? I didn’t take your business for such a dirty (and easily sue-able) scam!
